Gretchen Rodriguez: Intimacy

In a piece entitled Let the Encounter Begin Gretchen tells us here that Many are hearing the call to greater intimacy with the Lord. We are those who yearn to encounter His love, hear His voice, and live in His abiding presence. Most importantly, we long to know Him. This desire is a God-given gift. It is an invitation of love from the heart of the Father that has the power to transform us at our core. This idea of intimacy is a creation by the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) as it continues its descent from Biblical truth and embraces hell itself. Intimacy is alluded to when the Bible tells us to Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1Cor7:5. It does not refer to intimacy with God but with the person to whom one is married. God expects to have such intimacy but he never speaks in that language of the relationship between a born-again Christian and our Father in heaven. This is part of the modern version of "christianity" which the NAR has created.

Firstly we need to grasp what the gospel is truly about. The gospel begins with bad news! We are all sinners deserving of death (see Rom 3:23). We may live a very happy life on this planet, being gracious and kind to others, respecting their rights, being generous and everything else but we remain sinners. We are dead in our sins and hellbound. We all are and have been in rebellion to a loving Heavenly Father from the day when God created Adam and Eve.

Now, comes the good news: It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost. 1Tim:1:15 Jesus resplied to Nicodemus, by saying "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:6. How do you get born again? The NAR idea of being born again is to have some supposed spiritual encounter with the Holy Spirit. This might be crying, falling to the floor, being glued to the floor, making animal noises and many more embarrassing and ludricous antics. This is not the Biblical concept of being "born again". These are encounters with a false and lying spirit attempting to mimic the true Holy Spirit. In John chapter 3, Jesus gives a cross-referenece to an OT passage which defines "born agin" in detail. This references Numbers 21:5-9. Paul understood this passage when he said He who knew no sin became sin for us. 1Cor 5:21. That is the goods news. If your sin has not been handed over to Jesus in prayer and has died with Jesus on the cross, then you have no part whatsoever in God's Kingdom.

So how would a born-again Christian have fellowship with God? He has fellowship with Jesus by reading the Bible, because it is the Word of God and Jesus is the Word of God! (see John 1). The NAR wants people to practise being intimate with God. How can you achieve that by your own efforts? It is a work of man, not one of grace by God. Followers of the NAR are being duped time and time again. You cannot have fellowship with God without coming to him through the means proscribed in scripture and being born again. It is sad to see so many people being duped by a false Jesus, a false Holy Spirit and a false Word of God. Yes, duped. Every time an NAR prophecy fails they replace it with a new one. True prophecies never fail. Yet, the NAR prophecies fail time and time again. Their followers are being treated just like hamsters in a wheel. Around and around they go and yet they go nowhere.

If you are one of those who are in that situation, then quit the NAR, find a Bible and begin to enjoy true intimacy with the Lord, encountering His love, hearing His voice, and ultimately living in His presence for evermore.
